I got my first boyfriend

Hey guys! I know I have been absent as of late but I have been going through some pretty exciting transitions and on some great big adventures which I am now ready to share with all of you! not that many people read my little blog here in the corner of the internet anyway.

Back in August of 2019 I reconnected with a boy from my middle school. I was in a really good mental space and he needed a bit of uplifting which I was more than happy to provide. for those of you who do not know, I suffer from chronic depression and it can be really hard. luckily I have been depression free for three years and I have never loved life or myself more than in this particular moment.

Anyway, one thing lead to another and now I get to date one of my first crushes as a little girl...which makes for one very cute love story. however I was very apprehensive at first and it had nothing to do with him being my first boyfriend or being a virgin or anything like that. our relationship has been pretty smooth but when you write it down on paper it has the tendency to sound ill conceived and complicated. let me tell you why.

I'm gonna rewind back to 2014. I had just graduated high school and a few girls were getting married over the summer, one particular girl was getting married to my now boyfriend. they had been together for about two years at this point and coming from a small town it is not uncommon to marry right out of high school. now I never spoke to this girl and besides a few times in Middle school my and my boyfriend barely made any contact or spoke in high school so of course I did not go to the weeding.

fast forward a bit and he and his wife had moved to Ohio. of course I followed him on Facebook, but I want to clarify that at this point I had not had a crush on him since I was 14 years old! my Facebook browsing was simply out of curiosity for old schoolmate and also life in Ohio as I had been in California my entire life and know nothing else. So in 2015 they moved to Ohio and in 2018 they had their son who was just the cutest little thing.

now let's fast forward to present because I really don't want to get into the logistics of thei move back to California or their eventual split up out of privacy and respect. stuff happened and we started to go out...but I was very apprehensive because the idea of getting tangled up in his life and family home was just daunting to say the least but I couldn't be happier with my decision and that is all that matters.

Granpa's house, Grandpa's rules.

Ok, Don't get all bunched up about this. My sister will be twenty-one later this year and my grandparents, being german, has allowed us to drink soft liquers such as wine and beer since we were 16 because it is not illegal in Germany.  My ancestors to my present day relatives who still reside in Detmoldt have always been beer brewers. We were taught to be responsible drinkers and don't ever drink until we are drunk nor do we drink and drive.

In any case, today was the superbown, and every year we celebrate the end of the season and the big game with my papa. Holidays and all reasons to celebrate are a big deal in my family as my grandparents like to use any excuse to gather their family together. I always go for te food, because I am a major foodie.

Every year my granma makes this Spinach dip that is to die for. It has artechoke heart, spinach, sour cream, mayonaise, and cheese....anything with cheese is good, right? I linked the recipe above i  case you want to try it for yourself. Hope you all had a fun and safe superbowl this year!

Study Bug

In case anyone was wondering how my semester was going, there was a spider in my math book. I had a pencil in the book to hold my place and when I opened the book the study for a test, a spider came flying out at me! He must have crawled into the tiny space in the middle of the night. I ran away and made my sister take care of it before resuming my studies.

I am trying to be extra studious this semester because I am trying to get into a school in south Korea. If I raise my GPA just a bit, I could qualify for a full scholarship! Right now, my major is global business. I don't really care what job I end up getting, as long as it lets me travel and make a decent living.

To be honest, I have been taking an interest in global marketing. It is fascinating how many different ways there are to market a product and how much work goes into things like sales, events, and advertisements. I am learning alot this year!

DOG TRAINING 101

My family often takes in rescue dogs, and we have four pups that we have adopted. Recently, our nine year old chihuahua has been pooping in the house even though the door is always open for her to go outside. When I talked to my grandma about the problem, she said throw the poop out with the dog. For some reason, it made me laugh as I pictured a dog being thrown out with poop. Keep on mind my grandma was once a show dog trainer, so I have no clue if she is serious or not? Do you have any solutions to get my pup to stop pooping in the house?

I have a super power!

I get sick like everyone else, but no one really thinks I do. That is because I have a superpower. For reference, here is how I look when I get sick.
I will laze about and complain all day with my nose running and my eyes watering. I will think about calling into work about ten times...but I never do.

My secret is that I have a switch on the back of my neck, mich like a light switch. In home mode, I am unable to do the most basic of tasks such as change out of my pajamas or make food.

 But in work mode...

I am blessed to have this magical ability, especially during this flu season. However, it also means that I have been pulling alot of overtimes. With how bad the flu season is, I hope you are all taking the necessary precaution and are staying healthy!
